THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM:
It is made up of the cardiovascular system that conducts and circulates blood, and the lymphatic system that conducts lymph unidirectionally towards the heart. The cardiovascular system is made up of the heart, blood vessels (arteries, veins and capillaries) and blood, and the lymphatic system which is made up of lymphatic vessels, nodes, lymphatic organs (spleen and thymus), bone marrow and lymphatic tissues (such as the tonsil and Peyer's patches) and lymph. The main function of the circulatory system is to pass nutrients (such as amino acids, electrolytes and lymph), gases, hormones, blood cells, among others , to the cells of the body, collect metabolic waste that must be eliminated later by the kidneys, in the urine, and by the exhaled air in the lungs, rich in carbon dioxide (CO2). In addition, it defends the body from infections and helps stabilize temperature and pH in order to maintain homeostasis.
HEART:
It is an organ that is housed in the center of the chest. Its sole function is to pump blood throughout the body.Interiorly, the heart is divided into four chambers: the upper ones are called atria, and the lower ones are called ventricles.The right atrium and ventricle are separated from the left atrium and ventricle by a membrane called the septum. The atria communicate with their respective ventricles through valves.
